Get Up, Stand Up: Burlington Wants to Make Sidewalk Sitting a Crime | Seven Days

Get Up, Stand Up: Burlington Wants to Make Sidewalk Sitting a Crime | Seven Days

This just seems a way to hide our social failings. We should actually work on a way to solve the issue.
These are my questions:

What is the end game here, are we going to use prison to house these folks?  Do we really need more laws that can be enforced based on what you look like or what some one 'feels' about you?  Aren't there already things on the books that make it illegal to block access to a public space? Giving the police more power to act on whim is not something I want nor is it something you want either.

"First they came for the Communists but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out;
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists but I was not one of them, so I did not speak out;
Then they came for the Jews but I was not Jewish so I did not speak out.And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."
